SMTP Tips
Check out this document if you need help adding your SMTP settings to ProcessPlan
Gmail SMTP Settings
Section titled “Gmail SMTP Settings”Host Name: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Username: Your Gmail address
SMTP Password: A Google app password (see below)
Port Number: 587
SSL: Enabled
You can manage these settings on your Google account security page.
Google no longer allows connecting to SMTP with your regular account password. You will need to turn on 2-Step Verification for your Google account and then create an app password - see Google’s help article on app passwords.
In ProcessPlan, use this app password in the place of your actual Gmail password in the SMTP setup.
Office 365 SMTP Settings
Section titled “Office 365 SMTP Settings”Host Name: smtp.office365.com
SMTP Username: Your Office 365 email address
SMTP Password: Your Office 365 password
Port Number: 587

If you have trouble authenticating with Office 365, SMTP authentication may be turned off for your organization or for your mailbox. Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to enable Authenticated SMTP for the specific mailbox you use with ProcessPlan - see Microsoft’s guidance on enabling SMTP AUTH. Note that Security Defaults, managed in the Microsoft Entra admin center, can also block SMTP authentication for the whole organization.
