We did look at charging per completed job instead. The trouble is that no process is finished on the first pass. Real work turns up exceptions nobody thought to mention, and each one takes our team time to build and test. A per-job price would have to carry that risk by guessing high, and you would pay for the guess. The minute is the honest unit: you pay for work that actually happened, and you can go and check it.
No, and there are two real limits rather than a promise to keep an eye on it. An AI Employee bills only for the minutes it is actually working, so idle time never costs you anything. And that billable time is capped at the time captured in your own recording of the job, so you are never billed for more minutes than the work takes one of your people. If an AI Employee ever runs longer than that, the extra is on us.
So your worst case is paying $6 an hour for work your team is doing today, and the usual case is well under it. Your AI Strategist gave you an estimate before you started, and it keeps that estimate next to what you are actually spending. If the two start to part company it tells you the same day, with what changed and what it wants to do about it. Nobody has to go looking.
